| Patterns. Repetition is pattern - work, life, behaviour. An ongoing report. The main focus is on artistic happenings, lectures and workshops. A design for the project will be developed on the theme pattern-repetition. The pattern will be printed on posters, material and tape and will be visible at each Points of Departure venue signalling that a Points of Departure event will take place. Thus the pattern is both functional and provides a framework for the invited artists. The material will be designed by wiklundwiklund (www.wiklundwiklund.com). Participants: Mårten Nilsson and Gunilla Heilborn, filmmakers and choreographers will show 3 short films, artists Jacob Dahlgren and Elisabeth Westerlund will hold lectures about their work. Cilla Ramnek and Gunnel Pettersson will each participate with works based on the theme pattern-repetition, one indoor and one outdoor. Curator: Katarina Wiklund |

| Open Sewing Circle. Many artists emphasize the connection between textile and digital technique. Cable, thread and wool mediate stories and contexts. Embroidery and knitting equates with programming and the creation of digital networks. The traditional sewing circle’s social openness is recreated in electronic networks using freeware. On this basis artists are invited to run open sewing circles for the duration of Points of Departure. The work of the hand is combined with questions about networks and communication. Participating artists and researchers: Ele Carpenter, England; Louise Waldén, textile researcher, Åsa Ståhl and Kristina Lindström, research students, Sweden. Curator: Margareta Klingberg Location: Handarbetets Vänners galleri |
